Toowoomba City Japanese Garden ‘Jyuraku-en’

To promote cultural exchange following the introduction of Japanese language education at the University of Southern Queensland, a Japanese garden was planned and constructed through the local city council.

The garden was designed in a natural landscape style, featuring over 450 tons of stone used for the shoreline and a 45-meter waterfall. The planting includes a wide variety of traditional Japanese species, such as cherry trees, Japanese maples, camellias, bamboo, Japanese black pines, irises, lilies, moss, and approximately 2,500 azaleas. When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom during spring, the garden attracts many visitors.
