Taima-dera Temple Dai-Hojo Garden
Karesansui garden, the Garden of Niga Byakudo. Inspired by the Niga Byakudo-zu, a National Treasure Buddhist painting from the Kamakura period, which depicts the parable of the White Path Between Two Rivers found in the sutra commentaries by Shandao, a Pure Land Buddhist thinker from the early Tang dynasty in China. The garden uses red sand to recreate the scene of being surrounded by fire.
