This historic temple, located in Shizuoka City, was once a prominent Rinzai Zen temple in the castle town of Sunpu and formerly featured a full complex of seven main temple halls.

The jacaranda trees, planted around 1976, have become a local highlight. Their flowers bloom around the beginning of the rainy season (late May to early June), and have become a well-known seasonal attraction of the temple grounds.
