湖西市新居町には、初代中根金作の設計施工による公園・庭園などが数多く点在しています。
そのひとつが老人福祉センターの日本庭園です。
作庭から30年以上の時を経て、2023年に孫である中根行宏監修のもと修復が行われました。
新居にある庭園および景観デザインや今世界で注目されている日本庭園についてその鑑賞の仕方（楽しみ方）などをお話しさせて頂きます。

There are many parks and gardens in Arai-cho, Kosai City, that were designed and constructed by the first-generation landscape master Kinsaku Nakane.
One of them is the Japanese garden at the Senior Welfare Center.
More than 30 years after its original creation, the garden was restored in 2023 under the supervision of his grandson, Yukihiro Nakane.
In this talk, we will introduce the gardens and landscape designs located in Arai, as well as share insights into how to appreciate and enjoy Japanese gardens, which are now attracting attention worldwide.
